A rich and creamy Indian curry with tender chicken in a tomato-based sauce infused with aromatic spices. Perfectly balanced flavors of garam masala, ginger, and garlic create this restaurant-quality dish.

Ingredients

  • 800g chicken breast (cut into chunks)
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp garam masala
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 3 tbsp butter
  • 1 large onion (diced)
  • 4 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 2 tbsp ginger (minced)
  • 2 tsp ground coriander
  • 1 tsp chili powder
  • 400g crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Salt to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

    Marinate chicken with yogurt, lemon juice, cumin, 1 tsp garam masala, paprika, and turmeric for at least 1 hour

    Heat butter in a large pan and cook chicken until browned, set aside

    In the same pan, sauté onion until golden

    Add garlic, ginger, coriander, remaining garam masala, and chili powder, cook for 2 minutes

    Add crushed tomatoes and simmer for 10 minutes

    Stir in heavy cream and return chicken to the pan

    Simmer for 15-20 minutes until chicken is cooked through and sauce thickens

    Season with salt and garnish with cilantro

    Serve with basmati rice or naan bread
