Ingredients
- ✓1 lb ground beef
- ✓1/2 lb ground pork
- ✓1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- ✓1/4 cup milk
- ✓1 egg
- ✓2 cloves garlic (minced)
- ✓1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- ✓2 tbsp fresh parsley (chopped)
- ✓Salt and pepper to taste
- ✓2 cups marinara sauce
- ✓4 sub rolls
- ✓8 slices mozzarella cheese
- ✓2 tbsp olive oil
- ✓Optional: fresh basil leaves

Mix breadcrumbs with milk and let soak for 5 minutes

In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, soaked breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, Parmesan, parsley, salt, and pepper

Form mixture into 2-inch meatballs (makes about 12-16 meatballs)

Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat

Brown meatballs on all sides, about 8-10 minutes total

Pour marinara sauce over meatballs, reduce heat to low, cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes

Meanwhile, slice sub rolls and toast them lightly

Place 3-4 meatballs on each roll, spoon extra sauce on top

Top with 2 slices of mozzarella cheese

Broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly
